PUBLIC SPACE AND VIEWS

City Waterside faces south, directly overlooking the greenness of the Trent Valley, Berryhill Fields and the hills of the Peak District beyond. The views contrast richly with the urban setting, while the southerly aspect means future development will benefit from the sunshine.
There will be a network of small neighbourhood squares and play areas near a substantial canalside public park at the heart of City. The waterside park will be set alongside the city’s majestic bottle kilns and will be overlooked by highly-desirable new housing.
It will create a strong identity for the neighbourhood through a well-maintained,
busy space with many different users.
All residents will be invited to discuss their ideas for the use of public spaces and their views on aspects like play equipment, benches, boat moorings
and local events.
